Passerelle Desk

 

Inspired by the uncluttered aesthetics of classic Shaker furniture, French designers Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec designed the Passerelle Desk – an updated interpretation sharing the same simplicity and quality in a more contemporary context. With a well-balanced, flat-packed construction, the tabletop features solid wooden edges and a top surface in veneer or linoleum. The table frame is equally robust and functional, with solid wooden legs and an aluminium and steel crossbar positioned just off centre for extra chair space and mobility. The Passerelle Desk’s variety of material and colour options enhances its multifunctional character, making it suitable for use as a desk in a home office or as a workspace in a corporate environment.

Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec the Paris-based design brothers from Brittany have been working together since 1998. Ronan is a graduate of the École Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris and Erwan attended the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts in Cergy before starting their own studio.They have transformed the design industry and offered new perspectives of materiality and purpose. For HAY, they have designed the Palissade Collection, Balcony Collection, CPH Collection, Can Collection, Passerelle Collection, Élémentaire Chair and Pier System.
