Part of a design collaboration between HAY and artist Laila Gohar that celebrates the joy of meeting family and friends over a good meal, the Sobremesa Apron is a kitchen classic designed to protect clothing and enhance mealtime preparation. Made in durable cotton, it has crossover straps at the back, handy pockets at the front and is finished with a small, embroidered spoon detail. One size fits all. OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 cert. Laila Gohar is a conceptual artist and chef who works with food as her artistic medium. She creates immersive experiences that blur the line between performance and dining. Gohar was born in Egypt, where she grew up in a large family of passionate cooks and hosts. She is now based in New York City where she works internationally, and is known for her high profile collaborations across art, design and fashion. Laila also writes a monthly column called How to Host It for FT’s How to Spend It magazine. For HAY, Laila Gohar has designed the Sobremesa Collection – a series of tableware and kitchen accessories designed to celebrate the joy of hosting.
